Ingredients:
- 4 cups rice Chex cereal
- 2 cups Easter M&M’s (choose pastel-colored ones)
- 1 bag white chocolate chips (about 12 oz.)
- A sprinkle of sea salt, to taste
- Optional: 1 cup pretzel sticks, broken into pieces for a salty twist
- Optional: Pastel-colored sprinkles for added whimsy
Directions:
- Spread the rice Chex in a thin layer on a large baking sheet without greasing it.
- Melt the white chocolate chips until smooth, either using a double boiler or microwave. If microwaving, stir every 30 seconds to prevent scorching.
- Drizzle the melted white chocolate over the Chex evenly, ensuring each piece is coated.
- While the chocolate is still melted, sprinkle on the Easter M&M’s, pretzel bits (if using), a pinch of sea salt, and optional sprinkles for extra color.
- Allow the mixture to sit until the chocolate hardens. You can speed up the process by refrigerating it, but it will also set at room temperature if your kitchen is cool.
- Once set, break the Bunny Bait into chunks and serve.
Variations & Tips:
- Experiment with different cereals like Corn Chex or wheat Chex for variety.
- If allergies are a concern, use dairy-free white chocolate and select candy that meets dietary needs.
- Store the Bunny Bait in a cool place to prevent it from becoming sticky, especially on warmer days.
- For added sweetness, mix in miniature marshmallows after the white chocolate has cooled slightly.
