Ingredients:
- 4 chicken breasts
- 1 cup all-purpose flour
- 2 eggs, beaten
- 1 cup Italian breadcrumbs
- 1/2 cup grated Parmesan cheese
- 1 teaspoon dried basil
- 1 teaspoon dried oregano
- 1 teaspoon garlic powder /2
- salt
- 1/2 cup olive oil
- 1 cup marinara sauce
- 1 cup grated mozzarella cheese
Instructions:
Preheat oven to 400°F (200°C).
Use a meat mallet to flatten the chicken breasts to an even thickness.
Prepare a breading station with three shallow bowls. One bowl contains the flour, one contains the beaten eggs, and the third contains the bread crumbs, Parmesan cheese, basil, oregano, garlic powder, salt, and pepper.
Dust the chicken breasts with flour, dip them in the beaten egg, and finally sprinkle them evenly with the breadcrumbs.
Add olive oil to a large skillet and heat over medium heat. Fry the breaded chicken breasts until golden brown on both sides, about 2 to 3 minutes per side.
Place the cooked chicken in a baking dish and top each chicken with marinara sauce and grated mozzarella.
Bake in the preheated oven for 10-15 minutes or until the cheese is melted and bubbly.
Serve hot chicken parmesan with marinara sauce.
